Nominate a local volunteer in June!

Our annual Shine the Light contest is an opportunity for the member-consumers and employees of Iowa's locally owned electric cooperatives to celebrate friends and neighbors who are making a positive difference in their communities.

We're accepting contest entries during the month of June each year and the entry form will be available below from June 1 through June 30.

You'll need to provide some basic contact information for you and the person you're nominating and be prepared to answer this question in 500 words or less: How has your nominee made a difference in your community and how might their local charity/nonprofit use the $3,000 donation?

Relationship to Electric Cooperative
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to enter this contest, you must be a member-consumer of an Iowa electric cooperative, a customer of an affiliated municipal utility, and/or an employee of an Iowa electric cooperative or an affiliated municipal utility. (If you receive electricity from an electric cooperative, you are a member-consumer.) The local volunteer you are nominating does not need to meet these requirements.
Who is my electric utility?
Not sure who your electric provider is? Refer to a recent billing statement or invoice to see if you receive electricity from an eligible Iowa electric cooperative or affiliated municipal utility.
